46 Telling them, It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer; but you have made it a [a]cave of robbers.(A)
47 And He continued to teach day after day in the temple [[b]porches and courts]. The chief priests and scribes and the leading men of the people were seeking to put Him to death,
48 But they did not discover anything they could do, for all the people hung upon His words and [c]stuck by Him.

46 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be a house of prayer’[a];(A) but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’[b]”(B)
47 Every day he was teaching at the temple.(C) But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him.(D) 48 Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.
