¹⁰ But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests.

⁴¹ “I do not accept glory from human beings,^(A)

⁴⁴ How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God^[a]?^(A)

⁵⁰ I am not seeking glory for myself;^(A) but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge.

⁵⁴ Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself,^(A) my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me.^(B)
