New English Translation
52 Woe to you experts in religious law! You have taken away[a] the key to knowledge! You did not go in yourselves, and you hindered[b] those who were going in.”
53 When he went out from there, the experts in the law[c] and the Pharisees began to oppose him bitterly,[d] and to ask him hostile questions[e] about many things, 54 plotting against[f] him, to catch[g] him in something he might say.

53 When Jesus went outside, the Pharisees and the teachers of the law began to oppose him fiercely and to besiege him with questions, 54 waiting to catch him in something he might say.(B)
