Luke 11:43-45

⁴³`You Pharisees will have trouble! In the meeting houses you want to sit in the front seats. And in the market you want people to greet you.

⁴⁴You will have trouble! You are not true to yourselves! You are like graves that are not marked. Men walk over them and do not know it.'

⁴⁵Then one of the men who taught God's law said to Jesus, `Teacher, when you say these things, you talk against us too.'

⁴³“Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the most important seats in the synagogues and respectful greetings in the marketplaces.^(A)

⁴⁴“Woe to you, because you are like unmarked graves,^(B) which people walk over without knowing it.”

⁴⁵One of the experts in the law^(C) answered him, “Teacher, when you say these things, you insult us also.”

⁴³Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

⁴⁴Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

⁴⁵Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.
