78 Because of and through the heart of tender mercy and loving-kindness of our God, a Light from on high will dawn upon us and visit [us](A)
79 To shine upon and give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to direct and guide our feet in a straight line into the way of peace.(B)
80 And the little boy grew and became strong in spirit; and he was in the deserts (wilderness) until the day of his appearing to Israel [the commencement of his public ministry].

78 because of the tender mercy of our God,
by which the rising sun(A) will come to us from heaven
79 to shine on those living in darkness
and in the shadow of death,(B)
to guide our feet into the path of peace.”(C)
80 And the child grew and became strong in spirit[a];(D) and he lived in the wilderness until he appeared publicly to Israel.
