Curses on Disobedience^(A)

¹⁵ “But it shall come to pass, ^(B)if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

^25 (A)“The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies; you shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them; and you shall become ^[a]troublesome to all the kingdoms of the earth.

² Then the ^(A)Philistines put themselves in battle array against Israel. And when they joined battle, Israel was ^[a]defeated by the Philistines, who killed about four thousand men of the army in the field.

¹⁷ And they took Absalom and cast him into a large pit in the woods, and ^(A)laid a very large heap of stones over him. Then all Israel ^(B)fled, everyone to his tent.

⁸ Then the king arose and sat in the ^(A)gate. And they told all the people, saying, “There is the king, sitting in the gate.” So all the people came before the king.

For everyone of Israel had ^(B)fled to his tent.

¹² And Judah was defeated by Israel, and every man fled to his tent.
