Punishments for Sexual Immorality

¹⁰ “If a ^(A)man commits adultery with the wife of^[a] his neighbour, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

^38 (A)And I will judge you ^(B)as women who commit adultery and ^(C)shed blood are judged, and bring upon you the blood of wrath and jealousy.

^40 (A)They shall bring up a crowd against you, ^(B)and they shall stone you and cut you to pieces with their swords.

⁴⁵ But righteous men ^(A)shall pass judgement on them with the sentence of adulteresses, and with the sentence of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses, and blood is on their hands.”

^47 (A)And the host shall stone them and cut them down with their swords. ^(B)They shall kill their sons and their daughters, and ^(C)burn up their houses.

⁵ Now ^(A)in the Law Moses commanded us ^(B)to stone such women. So what do you say?”
