³ “‘Each of you must respect your mother and father,^(A) and you must observe my Sabbaths.^(B) I am the Lord your God.^(C)

² “‘Observe my Sabbaths^(A) and have reverence for my sanctuary.^(B) I am the Lord.

¹² “Six days do your work,^(A) but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and so that the slave born in your household and the foreigner living among you may be refreshed.^(B)

¹⁴ “‘Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death;^(A) those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people. ¹⁵ For six days work^(B) is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest,^(C) holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death.

²¹ “Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest;^(A) even during the plowing season and harvest^(B) you must rest.

Sabbath Offerings

⁹ “‘On the Sabbath^(A) day, make an offering of two lambs a year old without defect,^(B) together with its drink offering and a grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah^[a](C) of the finest flour mixed with olive oil.^{(D) 10} This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath,^(E) in addition to the regular burnt offering^(F) and its drink offering.

¹⁴ Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath,^(A) the synagogue leader^(B) said to the people, “There are six days for work.^(C) So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”
