And he shall bring them to the priest, who shall bring near first that which is for the sin offering and shall nip its head at the front of its neck, but he (A)shall not separate it. He shall also sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering (B)on the side of the altar, while the rest of the blood shall be drained out (C)at the base of the altar: it is a sin offering. 10 The second he shall then prepare as a burnt offering (D)according to the legal judgment. (E)So the priest shall make atonement on his behalf for his sin which he has [a]committed, and it will be forgiven him.

He is to wring its head from its neck,(A) not dividing it completely,(B) and is to splash(C) some of the blood of the sin offering against the side of the altar;(D) the rest of the blood must be drained out at the base of the altar.(E) It is a sin offering. 10 The priest shall then offer the other as a burnt offering in the prescribed way(F) and make atonement(G) for them for the sin they have committed, and they will be forgiven.(H)
