Or if anyone swears [an oath] thoughtlessly or impulsively [a]aloud that he will do either evil or good, in whatever manner a person may speak thoughtlessly or impulsively with an oath, but he is unaware of it, when he recognizes it, he will be guilty in one of these.(A) So it shall be when a person is guilty in one of these, that he shall confess the sin he has committed. He shall bring his guilt offering to the Lord for the sin which he has committed, a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat as a sin offering. So the priest shall make atonement on his behalf for his sin.

or if anyone thoughtlessly takes an oath(A) to do anything, whether good or evil(B) (in any matter one might carelessly swear about) even though they are unaware of it, but then they learn of it and realize their guilt— when anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess(C) in what way they have sinned. As a penalty for the sin they have committed, they must bring to the Lord a female lamb or goat(D) from the flock as a sin offering[a];(E) and the priest shall make atonement(F) for them for their sin.
