8 And five of[a] you shall pursue a hundred, and a hundred of[b] you shall pursue a myriad;[c] and your enemies shall fall by the sword before you.[d] 9 And I will turn to you, and I will make you fruitful, and I will make you numerous; and I will keep my covenant with you. 10 And you shall eat old grain,[e] and you shall clear away the old before the new.[f]

9 “‘I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers,(C) and I will keep my covenant(D) with you. 10 You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new.(E)
