The Great Day of Forgiveness

(Numbers 29.7-11)

26 (A) The Lord God said to Moses:

27 The tenth day of the seventh month[a] is the Great Day of Forgiveness.[b] It is a solemn day of worship; everyone must go without eating to show sorrow for their sins, and sacrifices must be burned. 28 No one is to work on that day—it is the Great Day of Forgiveness, when sacrifices will be offered to me, so that I will forgive your sins.

The Day of Atonement(A)

26 The Lord said to Moses, 27 “The tenth day of this seventh month(B) is the Day of Atonement.(C) Hold a sacred assembly(D) and deny yourselves,[a] and present a food offering to the Lord. 28 Do not do any work(E) on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the Lord your God.
