21 It makes the people unclean if a man marries his brother's wife. He has taken away his brother's honour. They will not have any children.
22 If the people want to remain in the land that I am giving to them, they must obey my laws and my rules. 23 The people who are living in Canaan now are doing bad things. I, the Lord, hate them because they do these things. I will send them out of Canaan.

21 “‘If a man marries his brother’s wife,(A) it is an act of impurity; he has dishonored his brother. They will be childless.(B)
22 “‘Keep all my decrees and laws(C) and follow them, so that the land(D) where I am bringing you to live may not vomit you out. 23 You must not live according to the customs of the nations(E) I am going to drive out before you.(F) Because they did all these things, I abhorred them.(G)
