So the Lord sent out fire that burned them up and they died before the Lord. Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord meant when He said, ‘I will show Myself holy among those who are near Me. I will be honored in front of all the people.’” And Aaron said nothing. Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel, the brother of Aaron’s father. He said to them, “Come, carry your brothers away from the holy place and away from the tents.”

So fire came out(A) from the presence of the Lord and consumed them,(B) and they died before the Lord.(C) Moses then said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke of when he said:

“‘Among those who approach me(D)
    I will be proved holy;(E)
in the sight of all the people
    I will be honored.(F)’”

Aaron remained silent.

Moses summoned Mishael and Elzaphan,(G) sons of Aaron’s uncle Uzziel,(H) and said to them, “Come here; carry your cousins outside the camp,(I) away from the front of the sanctuary.(J)
