so that we could not walk in our streets;

¹⁸People stalked us at every step,
so we could not walk in our streets.
Our end was near, our days were numbered,
for our end had come.^(A)

¹⁸They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.

²³For the Lord God of hosts will make a full end, as decreed, in the midst of all the earth.

²³The Lord, the Lord Almighty, will carry out
the destruction decreed^(A) upon the whole land.^(B)

²³For the Lord God of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.
