²⁸ He said to them, ‘Follow me! The Lord will put your enemy, the Moabites, under your power!’ The Israelites followed him to the Jordan River, near the border of Moab. They would not let anyone go across the river. ²⁹ That day they killed about 10,000 Moabite soldiers. They were all strong, brave fighters, but none of them escaped. ³⁰ The Israelites won the fight against Moab that day. The land of Israel had peace for 80 years.
