23 The Israelites went up and wept before the Lord until evening. They asked the Lord, “Should we[a] again march out to fight[b] the Benjaminites, our brothers?”[c] The Lord said, “Attack them.”[d] 24 So the Israelites marched toward[e] the Benjaminites the next day. 25 The Benjaminites again attacked them from Gibeah and struck down 18,000 sword-wielding Israelite soldiers.[f]

24 Then the Israelites drew near to Benjamin the second day. 25 This time, when the Benjamites came out from Gibeah to oppose them, they cut down another eighteen thousand Israelites,(E) all of them armed with swords.
