21 The Benjaminites came out of Gibeah, and struck down on that day twenty-two thousand of the Israelites. 23 [a] The Israelites went up and wept before the Lord until the evening; and they inquired of the Lord, “Shall we again draw near to battle against our kinsfolk the Benjaminites?” And the Lord said, “Go up against them.” 22 The Israelites took courage, and again formed the battle line in the same place where they had formed it on the first day.

21 The Benjamites came out of Gibeah and cut down twenty-two thousand Israelites(A) on the battlefield that day. 22 But the Israelites encouraged one another and again took up their positions where they had stationed themselves the first day. 23 The Israelites went up and wept before the Lord(B) until evening,(C) and they inquired of the Lord.(D) They said, “Shall we go up again to fight(E) against the Benjamites, our fellow Israelites?”

The Lord answered, “Go up against them.”
