13 So then, hand over the men, the perverse lot,[a] who are in Gibeah, so that we may kill them and purge this wickedness from Israel.” But the descendants[b] of Benjamin were not willing to listen to the voice of their relatives,[c] the Israelites.[d] 14 And the descendants[e] of Benjamin were gathered from the cities to Gibeah to go out for battle against the Israelites.[f] 15 From the cities the descendants[g] of Benjamin were counted on that day twenty-six thousand sword-wielding men,[h] besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who were counted seven hundred well-trained[i] men.

13 Now turn those wicked men(A) of Gibeah over to us so that we may put them to death and purge the evil from Israel.(B)

But the Benjamites would not listen to their fellow Israelites. 14 From their towns they came together at Gibeah to fight against the Israelites. 15 At once the Benjamites mobilized twenty-six thousand swordsmen from their towns, in addition to seven hundred able young men from those living in Gibeah.
