20 Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, unto the Lord in Mizpeh.

28 “Please forgive(A) your servant’s presumption. The Lord your God will certainly make a lasting(B) dynasty for my lord, because you fight the Lord’s battles,(C) and no wrongdoing(D) will be found in you as long as you live. 29 Even though someone is pursuing you to take your life,(E) the life of my lord will be bound securely in the bundle of the living by the Lord your God, but the lives of your enemies he will hurl(F) away as from the pocket of a sling.(G) 30 When the Lord has fulfilled for my lord every good thing he promised concerning him and has appointed him ruler(H) over Israel, 31 my lord will not have on his conscience the staggering burden of needless bloodshed or of having avenged himself. And when the Lord your God has brought my lord success, remember(I) your servant.”(J)

28 I pray thee, forgive the trespass of thine handmaid: for the Lord will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord fighteth the battles of the Lord, and evil hath not been found in thee all thy days.

29 Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the Lord thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as out of the middle of a sling.

30 And it shall come to pass, when the Lord shall have done to my lord according to all the good that he hath spoken concerning thee, and shall have appointed thee ruler over Israel;

31 That this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of heart unto my lord, either that thou hast shed blood causeless, or that my lord hath avenged himself: but when the Lord shall have dealt well with my lord, then remember thine handmaid.
