²⁶ Then Joshua made them swear an oath at that time, saying, “^(A)Cursed before Yahweh is the man who rises up and builds this city Jericho; with the loss of his firstborn he shall lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he shall set up its gates.”

Saul’s Oath Makes the People Weary

²⁴ Now the men of Israel were hard-pressed on that day. And Saul had ^(A)put the people under oath, saying, “Cursed be the man who eats food ^[a]before evening and until I have avenged myself on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.

²⁹ are ^[a]joining with their ^[b]relatives, their nobles, and are ^(A)entering into a curse and an oath to walk in God’s law, which was given by the hand of Moses, God’s servant, and to keep and to do all the commandments of Yahweh our Lord and His judgments and His statutes;
