²⁷ And Joshua said to all the people, “You see this stone—it will be a witness against us,^(A) for it has heard all the words the Lord said to us, and it will be a witness against you, so that you will not deny your God.”

²⁷ Instead, I discipline my body and bring it under strict control, so that after preaching to others, I myself will not be disqualified.^(A)

⁶ Now these things took place as examples for us, so that we will not desire^(A) evil things as they did.^[a](B)

³⁴ If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you gather together you will not come under judgment. I will give instructions about the other matters whenever I come.^(A)
