18 The Lord drove out before us all the peoples, including the Amorites who lived in the land. We too will worship the Lord, because he is our God.”
19 But Joshua told the people, “You will not be able to worship the Lord, because he is a holy God. He is a jealous God;(A) he will not forgive your transgressions and sins.(B) 20 If you abandon the Lord and worship foreign gods, he will turn against you, harm you, and completely destroy(C) you, after he has been good to you.”

18 And the Lord drove out(A) before us all the nations,(B) including the Amorites, who lived in the land.(C) We too will serve the Lord, because he is our God.(D)”
19 Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord. He is a holy God;(E) he is a jealous God.(F) He will not forgive(G) your rebellion(H) and your sins. 20 If you forsake the Lord(I) and serve foreign gods, he will turn(J) and bring disaster(K) on you and make an end of you,(L) after he has been good to you.”
