7 So the king’s men went looking for the spies along the road leading to the shallow crossings of the Jordan River. And as soon as the king’s men had left, the gate of Jericho was shut.
8 Before the spies went to sleep that night, Rahab went up on the roof to talk with them. 9 “I know the Lord has given you this land,” she told them. “We are all afraid of you. Everyone in the land is living in terror.

7 So the men set out in pursuit of the spies on the road that leads to the fords of the Jordan,(A) and as soon as the pursuers(B) had gone out, the gate was shut.
8 Before the spies lay down for the night, she went up on the roof(C) 9 and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear(D) of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you.
