They went to see Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders. They said, ‘The Lord told Moses to give us part of the land. We must have land like the sons of other families.’ Joshua agreed and he gave land to them, like the other families. That is why Manasseh's tribe received ten parts of the land, as well as Gilead and Bashan on the east side of the Jordan. The daughters of Manasseh received some land, as well as his sons. They gave the land of Gilead to the other families of Manasseh.

They went to Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders and said, “The Lord commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our relatives.” So Joshua gave them an inheritance along with the brothers of their father, according to the Lord’s command.(A) Manasseh’s share consisted of ten tracts of land besides Gilead and Bashan east of the Jordan,(B) because the daughters of the tribe of Manasseh received an inheritance among the sons. The land of Gilead belonged to the rest of the descendants of Manasseh.
