8 The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have handed them over to you; not one of them shall stand before you.” 9 So Joshua came upon them suddenly, having marched up all night from Gilgal. 10 And the Lord threw them into a panic before Israel, who inflicted a great slaughter on them at Gibeon, chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth-horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah.

8 The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid(A) of them; I have given them into your hand.(B) Not one of them will be able to withstand you.”(C)
9 After an all-night march from Gilgal, Joshua took them by surprise. 10 The Lord threw them into confusion(D) before Israel,(E) so Joshua and the Israelites defeated them completely at Gibeon.(F) Israel pursued them along the road going up to Beth Horon(G) and cut them down all the way to Azekah(H) and Makkedah.(I)
