13 So the sun stood still and the moon stopped, until the nation punished those who fought against them. Is it not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the center of the sky. It did not hurry to go down for about a whole day. 14 There has been no day like it before or since, when the Lord listened to the voice of a man. For the Lord fought for Israel. 15 Then Joshua and all Israel returned to the tents at Gilgal.

13 So the sun stood still,(A)
and the moon stopped,
till the nation avenged itself on[a] its enemies,
as it is written in the Book of Jashar.(B)
The sun stopped(C) in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. 14 There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting(D) for Israel!
15 Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal.(E)
