Jonah 1:3-5
New Life Version
3 But Jonah ran away from the Lord going toward Tarshish. He went down to Joppa and found a ship which was going to Tarshish. Jonah paid money, and got on the ship to go with them, to get away from the Lord.
4 Then the Lord sent a powerful wind upon the sea, and there was such a big storm that the ship was about to break up. 5 The sailors became afraid, and every man cried to his god. They threw the things that were in the ship into the sea so that it would not be so heavy. But Jonah had gone below in the ship and had lain down and fallen asleep.

Jonah 1:3-5
New International Version
3 But Jonah ran(A) away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish(B). He went down to Joppa,(C) where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.(D)
4 Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.(E) 5 All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship.(F)
But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep.
