¹¹ Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know,^(A) and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony.^{(B) 12} I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

⁴³ I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. ⁴⁴ How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God^[a]?^(A)

⁴⁶ I have come into the world as a light,^(A) so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

⁴⁷ “If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.^{(B) 48} There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them^(C) at the last day. ⁴⁹ For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me^(D) to say all that I have spoken. ⁵⁰ I know that his command leads to eternal life.^(E) So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”^(F)

²⁶ So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God^(A) through faith,

⁶ Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son^(A) into our hearts,^(B) the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,^[a] Father.”^{(C) 7} So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.^(D)

⁵ he^[a] predestined^(A) us for adoption to sonship^[b](B) through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure^(C) and will—

² Dear friends,^(A) now we are children of God,^(B) and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,^[a](C) we shall be like him,^(D) for we shall see him as he is.^(E)
