36 So if the Son frees you, you will really be free! 37 I know you are the seed of Avraham. Yet you are out to kill me, because what I am saying makes no headway in you. 38 I say what my Father has shown me; you do what your father has told you!”

36 So if the Son sets you free,(A) you will be free indeed. 37 I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me,(B) because you have no room for my word. 38 I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence,(C) and you are doing what you have heard from your father.[a]”(D)
