26 And behold, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing to him: do the rulers know indeed that this is indeed that Christ?
27 [a]Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when that Christ cometh, no man shall know whence he is.
28 ¶ [b]Then cried Jesus in the Temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and know whence I am: yet am I not come of myself, but he that sent me, is true, whom ye know not.

26 Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities(A) really concluded that he is the Messiah?(B) 27 But we know where this man is from;(C) when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from.”
28 Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts,(D) cried out, “Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from.(E) I am not here on my own authority, but he who sent me is true.(F) You do not know him,
