37 The Father who sent me is himself a witness about me. You have never heard his voice. You have never seen what he really looks like. 38 And his word does not live in you. That’s because you do not believe the one he sent. 39 You study the Scriptures carefully. You study them because you think they will give you eternal life. The Scriptures you study are a witness about me.

37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me.(A) You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,(B) 38 nor does his word dwell in you,(C) for you do not believe(D) the one he sent.(E) 39 You study[a] the Scriptures(F) diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life.(G) These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,(H)
