John 3:20-22

20 For everyone who does evil hates(A) the light and avoids it,[a] so that his deeds(B) may not be exposed. 21 But anyone who lives by[b] the truth comes to the light, so that his works(C) may be shown to be accomplished by God.”

New International Version
20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.(A) 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

22 After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized.(B)
