34 Instead, one of the soldiers thrust a spear into his side, and blood and water came out. 35 (The one who saw it is giving evidence, and his evidence is true. He knows he’s speaking the truth, so that you too may believe.) 36 These things, you see, came about so that the Bible might come true: “No bone of his will be broken.”

34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced(A) Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.(B) 35 The man who saw it(C) has given testimony, and his testimony is true.(D) He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. 36 These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled:(E) “Not one of his bones will be broken,”[a](F)
