John 19:34-36

34 But one of the soldiers stuck his spear into Jesus’ side. At once blood and water came out. 35 (The one who saw this happen has told about it. The things he says are true. He knows that he tells the truth. He told about it so that you also can believe.) 36 These things happened to make the Scripture come true: “Not one of his bones will be broken.”[a]

34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced(A) Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.(B) 35 The man who saw it(C) has given testimony, and his testimony is true.(D) He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. 36 These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled:(E) “Not one of his bones will be broken,”[a](F)
