¹⁴It was the day of Preparation^(A) of the Passover; it was about noon.^(B)

“Here is your king,”^(C) Pilate said to the Jews.

¹⁴Now ^(A)it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, “Behold your King!”

⁴²Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation^(A) and since the tomb was nearby,^(B) they laid Jesus there.

⁴²So ^(A)there they laid Jesus, ^(B)because of the Jews’ Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.
