Peter Denies Jesus
15 Now Simon Peter and another disciple[a] were following Jesus. And that disciple was known to the high priest, and he entered with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest. 16 But Peter was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, the one known by the high priest, went out and spoke to the doorkeeper, and brought in Peter. 17 Then the doorkeeper servant-girl says to Peter, “You are not also one of the disciples of this man, are you?” That one says, “I am not”.

Peter’s First Denial(A)
15 Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Because this disciple was known to the high priest,(B) he went with Jesus into the high priest’s courtyard,(C) 16 but Peter had to wait outside at the door. The other disciple, who was known to the high priest, came back, spoke to the servant girl on duty there and brought Peter in.
17 “You aren’t one of this man’s disciples too, are you?” she asked Peter.
He replied, “I am not.”(D)
