¹⁷ He is the Spirit^(A) of truth.^(B) The world is unable to receive Him because it doesn’t see Him or know Him. But you do know Him, because He remains with you and will be^[a] in you.^(C)

¹³ When the Spirit of truth^(A) comes, He will guide you into all the truth.^(B) For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak whatever He hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.

²³ except that in town after town the Holy Spirit testifies to me that chains and afflictions are waiting for me.^(A)

¹¹ He came to us, took Paul’s belt, tied his own feet and hands, and said, “This is what the Holy Spirit says: ‘In this way the Jews in Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into Gentile hands.’”^(A)

¹⁰ Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, for the Spirit searches everything,^(A) even the depths of God.^{(B) 11} For who among men knows the thoughts^[a] of a man except the spirit^(C) of the man that is in him? In the same way, no one knows^(D) the thoughts^[b] of God except the Spirit of God.
