11 For he knew him that should [a]betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.
12 So when he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and [b]sat down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call me, Teacher, and, Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

11 For he knew who was going to betray him,(A) and that was why he said not every one was clean.
12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’(B) and ‘Lord,’(C) and rightly so, for that is what I am.
