John 12:40-42
Modern English Version
40 “He has blinded their eyes
and hardened their hearts,
lest they should see with their eyes
and perceive with their hearts and turn,
and I would heal them.”[a]
41 Isaiah said this when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.
42 Yet many of the rulers also believed in Him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they be put out of the synagogue.

40 “He has blinded their eyes
and hardened their hearts,
so they can neither see with their eyes,
nor understand with their hearts,
nor turn—and I would heal them.”[a](A)
41 Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory(B) and spoke about him.(C)
42 Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him.(D) But because of the Pharisees(E) they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue;(F)
