John 12:33-35

33 He said this to signify in what manner He would die.
34 At this the people answered Him, We have learned from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever; how then can You say, The Son of Man must be lifted up [on the cross]? Who is this Son of Man?(A)
35 So Jesus said to them, You will have the Light only a little while longer. Walk while you have the Light [keep on living by it], so that darkness may not overtake and overcome you. He who walks about in the dark does not know where he goes [he is drifting].

33 He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.(A)
34 The crowd spoke up, “We have heard from the Law(B) that the Messiah will remain forever,(C) so how can you say, ‘The Son of Man(D) must be lifted up’?(E) Who is this ‘Son of Man’?”
35 Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light(F) just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light,(G) before darkness overtakes you.(H) Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going.
