3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. 4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him, 5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

3 Then Mary took about a pint[a] of pure nard, an expensive perfume;(A) she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair.(B) And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
4 But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him,(C) objected, 5 “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.[b]”
