3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest, is sick.
4 When Jesus heard it, he said, This sickness is not unto [a]death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
5 ¶ Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister, and Lazarus.

3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love(A) is sick.”
4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory(B) so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” 5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
