¹⁴ The Word^(A) became flesh^(B) and dwelt^[a] among us. We observed his glory,^(C) the glory as the one and only^(D) Son^[b] from the Father, full of grace and truth.

⁵⁴ When this corruptible body is clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal body is clothed with immortality, then the saying that is written will take place:

⁵⁶ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin^(D) is the law.^(E)

¹⁵ He disarmed the rulers and authorities and disgraced them publicly; he triumphed over them in him.^[a](A)

¹⁰ This has now been made evident through the appearing^(A) of our Savior Christ Jesus, who has abolished death^(B) and has brought life^(C) and immortality to light through the gospel.

⁸ The one who commits^[a] sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God^(A) was revealed^(B) for this purpose: to destroy the devil’s works.
