⁶ The tents of robbers are safe,^(A)
and those who provoke God are secure;
God’s power provides this.^[a](B)

¹⁷ He leads counselors away barefoot
and makes judges go mad.^(A)

¹⁴ therefore I will again confound these people
with wonder after wonder.^(A)
The wisdom of their wise men will vanish,^(B)
and the understanding of the perceptive will be hidden.

²⁵ who destroys the omens of the false prophets
and makes fools of diviners;
who confounds the wise
and makes their knowledge foolishness;^(A)
