³For thou sayest, `What doth it profit Thee! What do I profit from my sin?'

⁴I return thee words, and thy friends with thee,

⁵Behold attentively the heavens -- and see, And behold the clouds, They have been higher than thou.

³Yet you ask him, ‘What profit is it to me,^[a]
and what do I gain by not sinning?’^(A)

⁴“I would like to reply to you
and to your friends with you.
⁵Look up at the heavens^(B) and see;
gaze at the clouds so high above you.^(C)
