or if I have lurked at my neighbor’s door,

⁹If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door;

²⁷so that my heart was secretly enticed^(A)
and my hand offered them a kiss of homage,^(B)

²⁷And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:

¹⁰My son, if sinful men entice^(A) you,
do not give in^(B) to them.^(C)

¹⁰My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
