Job 21:19-21
Expanded Bible
19 It is said [C defenders of the idea that the wicked suffer for their sins], ‘God ·saves [stores] up a person’s ·punishment [guilt] for his children.’
But God should ·punish [pay back] the wicked themselves so they will know it.
20 Their eyes should see their own destruction,
and they should ·suffer [L drink from the] the anger of ·the Almighty [Shaddai].
21 They do not care about the families they leave behind
when their lives have come to an end.
Job 21:19-21
New International Version
19 It is said, ‘God stores up the punishment of the wicked for their children.’(A)
Let him repay the wicked, so that they themselves will experience it!(B)
20 Let their own eyes see their destruction;(C)
let them drink(D) the cup of the wrath of the Almighty.(E)
21 For what do they care about the families they leave behind(F)
when their allotted months(G) come to an end?(H)
