¹⁵If I am wicked, woe to me!
And even if I am righteous, I cannot lift up my head.
I am filled with shame
and aware of my affliction.^(A)

¹⁵If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;

²⁷I am churning within^[a] and cannot rest;
days of suffering confront me.

²⁷My bowels boiled, and rested not: the days of affliction prevented me.

²¹Be careful that you do not turn to iniquity,
for that is why you have been tested by^[a] affliction.

²¹Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
