¹⁹ For this is what the Lord Almighty says about the pillars, the bronze Sea,^(A) the movable stands and the other articles^(B) that are left in this city,

²² ‘They will be taken^(A) to Babylon and there they will remain until the day^(B) I come for them,’ declares the Lord. ‘Then I will bring^(C) them back and restore them to this place.’”

¹⁸ He carried to Babylon all the articles^(A) from the temple of God, both large and small, and the treasures of the Lord’s temple and the treasures of the king and his officials. ¹⁹ They set fire^(B) to God’s temple^(C) and broke down the wall^(D) of Jerusalem; they burned all the palaces and destroyed^(E) everything of value there.^(F)

²⁰ He carried into exile^(G) to Babylon the remnant, who escaped from the sword, and they became servants^(H) to him and his successors until the kingdom of Persia came to power.

¹⁷ The Babylonians broke up the bronze pillars,^(A) the movable stands^(B) and the bronze Sea^(C) that were at the temple of the Lord and they carried all the bronze to Babylon.^{(D) 18} They also took away the pots, shovels, wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls,^(E) dishes and all the bronze articles used in the temple service.^{(F) 19} The commander of the imperial guard took away the basins, censers,^(G) sprinkling bowls, pots, lampstands,^(H) dishes^(I) and bowls used for drink offerings^(J)—all that were made of pure gold or silver.^(K)

²⁰ The bronze from the two pillars, the Sea and the twelve bronze bulls^(L) under it, and the movable stands, which King Solomon had made for the temple of the Lord, was more than could be weighed.^{(M) 21} Each pillar was eighteen cubits high and twelve cubits in circumference^[a]; each was four fingers thick, and hollow.^{(N) 22} The bronze capital^(O) on top of one pillar was five cubits^[b] high and was decorated with a network and pomegranates^(P) of bronze all around. The other pillar, with its pomegranates, was similar. ²³ There were ninety-six pomegranates on the sides; the total number of pomegranates^(Q) above the surrounding network was a hundred.^(R)
